Are you ready?

The Bible tells us Jesus will one day return in the clouds in glory. And that the coming of the Lord will be like a thief in the night to take His chosen ones home.

Many believers think that as long as they "believe in Jesus" in their hearts, that Jesus will take them home when He returns.

But that is not what the Bible tells us. The Bible tells us that those "who do not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ," will meet with the same fate as those who do not know God.

"since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you, and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ."

2 Thessalonians 1:6-8

Why does Paul have such strong words for "believers" who do not obey the gospel of Jesus Christ, those who cause trouble to those following the truth?

Paul explains in 2 Thessalonians 2, that because "they did not receive the love of the truth" (vrs. 10), "God will send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie." (vrs. 11). "That the coming of the lawless one is according to to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders." (vrs. 9)

Paul gives us the warning that Jesus gave us:

"For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." (Matthew 24:31)

Whether you are not a believer of Jesus, or whether you are a believer of Jesus, it is important that you follow the gospel of Jesus Christ, and not someone else's gospel.
